One hour of Code

Today Me and my Partner Tommy did a hour of code about the Solar System. We learnt about the Solar System and I learnt  how to code. One thing I learned was that the Sun is 4.6 Billion years old.

A Memorable Moment from the Holidays

On Saturday the 7th of July my family drove up to Tauranga for my Mums Mums 70th birthday. The following Tuesday my family was going to climb Mount Maunganui. We got to the base of the Mountain and looked up. ¨That Mountain is Tall as the Sky Tower¨ I said. We started the track and for the first about 100 metres it was quite easy. But when we got about halfway it was HARD. We carried on for a bit longer and then we had a break and ate some food. We stopped for about half an hour and then we carried on walking Mount Maunganui. With about 500 metres to go we stopped at a bench and looked at the view from Mount Maunganui. We took some photos and then carried on walking. All tired and drenched with sweat we found a track that went to the top like the other track we were walking on but the one we found was quicker! So we went on the quicker track. Me and my brother ran to the top cause we were so excited but the rest of my family just walked.

When we got to the top it was amazing! We waited for the rest of our family and then we took some photos and looked at the view. After that we ate some food and started to head down the mountain to the bottom. ¨ Can me and Cooper jog down to the bottom?¨ I said. ¨Yes¨ said Mum. So we started to jog down to the bottom. We jogged for a bit and then we stopped for a bit to have a rest. About 1 minute later we carried on.

We got to about halfway down and we stopped to see where the rest of our family were. And the rest of our family was out of sight. So we kept on jogging. About half an hour later we were at the bottom. We looked up the hill to try and see the rest of our family but they were still out of sight. So we did some stretches so our muscles do not get sore tomorrow.

About 15 minutes later the rest of our family got to the bottom. After that we went down to the beach. Me and my brother made a sandcastle with a barrier around it. Luckily the barrier worked! We played for about 30 minutes after that. After the beach we went to have some lunch.

That was a Memorable Moment for me.

Cycling Blog Post

Dear Phil,

I would just like to thank you for coming to College Street Normal School. It was amazing experience for me and the rest of COLAB.

I liked how you did three sessions for three different skills. My favourite part of the biking skills was the intersection because I gained confidence in turning and it gave me a better understanding about intersections. I appreciated how you stopped us just before every intersection and told us what we were going to do so that we remembered and did it right. I liked how Matt gave us a speech about the basic Road Rules at the start of cycling because it gave me more confidence on the road ride.

I thank you very much for the lessons and the road ride. It will definitely help me in the future.

Kind Regards,

Hudson Aish

My Pigeon Impossible Writing

¨Hello and welcome to TV 6 News. My name is Jeffrey Starkwordle and today we have a very special article.
In  Washington D.C there was a big catastrophe. An agent from the C.I.A. called Walter Beckett was fighting a pigeon last Thursday. Now we are going to go over to Jack Widdles in Washington D.C. Over to you Jack!¨

¨Thank you Jeffrey. I am here in Washington D.C. to interview some of the key witnesses of the catastrophe. We are going to interview Walter Beckett, the Pigeon and the Bagel and a citizen called Luke who saw the whole thing. First we are going to interview the bagel. So what exactly happened? Bagel said nothing. Okay.. Anyway now we are going to interview the Pigeon.  How did this start?¨ ¨Hmmm hmmmmm¨ ¨Thank you very much for that information.  Because the first two have not been very successful we are now  going to interview the third witness who is Walter Bickett. What exactly happened?¨

¨I was walking and then a case came into my hands. I sat down and started eating my bagel. I opened the case and out of the corner of my eye I saw a PIGEON. I realised that he wanted my BAGEL!!! So I threw a bit of my bagel on the ground but he did not move. He wanted the whole thing! I was never going to give him the whole thing. So I tried to shoo him away but he just fell back into the case and then the case shut. I was freaked out. The pigeon started fiddling with the buttons and controls inside the case and was doing some weird stuff like making the case move and scaring people! After this I think he got the hang of the controls because he got a gun and started shooting everywhere!¨

¨Wow! This is amazing don't you think crowd? We must carry on!¨

Suddenly the shooting stopped… and out of the corner of my eye I saw something… it was the case! And it was in the air! I tried to jump and catch it but I was too tiny.  I jumped again and got it!  The case just flew up and up and up. While we were flying up the pigeon pressed death (the red button). The tower right in front of me opened and a rocket came up and shot into the air. While I was looking up I saw the case following the rocket! I jumped for all my life and just got my fingers to the case.

About 5 seconds later I looked down and saw none of the city and only clouds. It was one of the most scariest moments in my career in the C.I.A.  What is that? I thought as the top of the rocket was falling down to the ground Suddenly I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was the PIGEON. He landed swiftly on the case. So I got the gun out and aimed 3...2...1..Fire! Nothing came out. Really does it have to be now I cried in my mind. But I was not done with that stupid tiny pigeon. I got out the rocket and aimed at the pigeon… Out of the blew I had a lightbulb! I open the case and out went the bagel straight down to the city. One down one to go I proudly said in my mind. I aimed the rocket at the rocket and BOOM! A big firework of smoke formed in the sky. I flew down and landed as quiet as a ant. And there behind me I saw the pigeon eating the bagel. I put my glasses on and walked away. CRASH! Behind me I heard a crash. I turned around saw nothing but the top of the rocket. No pigeon. No nothing.¨

¨Thank you very much Walter. What a great description that was. Last but not least we are going to talk to Luke who was one citizens that experienced the whole thing. So how was this experience for you?

¨It was horrifying. I nearly got run over twice and nearly shot in the head. It was probably the scariest thing that has happened in my life so far even though it was kind of cool and action packed. Alright, Alright it was awesome! Even though I nearly died it was probably the coolest and most action packed thing of my life!¨

¨Thank you Luke. So that is all the interviews. My time here is done. Over to you Jack!¨

¨My pleasure Jack. My name is Jeffrey Starkwordle, and that was TV 6 news. Thank you for Watching.¨

Here is the chaotic Group 6 trying to complete the Raft Building Challenge while Group 3 is having great fun in the Kayaks.

The Mud Run

MUD RUN

¨Hudson, Hudson, Hudson, Hudson¨ yells COLAB as I was the first person to finish a lap of the mud run. ¨So close¨ I thought as I was meters away from the finish. I got to the finish with relief and joy. I waited for about 5 minutes until Ms G let some other people go. When they got into the mud I started to go again. We went for about 3 minutes until Sheraz and Cameron got stuck! So I had to help them out of the mud (which was hard) and carried on. We were running smoothly until we were nearly at the end. That meant we had to go through the 4 meters (I think) of DOOM! 3..2..1.. SPLAT!!! There was no turning back... We had to heave and pull so hard I thought my arms were going to fall off! In a matter of time I was out of the DOOM mud and was nearly finished my second lap.

I finished my second lap and was going on for my third lap. The third lap was a lot colder and harder because 1. We had to wait in line to get into the mud.  2. The mud has been used by everybody else so it is a lot harder. I was nearly at the end of my third lap until I saw about 10 people stuck! So I helped about 5 of them until I got stuck myself and somebody had to pull me out. ¨Just one more lap just one more lap¨ I whispered to myself as I was edging to the finish of my third lap. ¨YES!¨ I said as I just got to do another lap. There was only a couple of people left so we went quite fast.

About 5 minutes later I was edging to my fourth lap. STOP! I stopped suddenly to one of the parents that came on camp with us was right in front of us. ¨Everyone out.¨

¨Why?¨ I heard from behind me. We all got out and waited. ¨That was the most funnest thing of my life.¨

Moving to Palmy

Moving to Palmy

Beep Beep Beep. That was the alarm to tell me that today was the day. Today was the day that we were moving to Palmy. We are moving to Palmy because my dad got a new job there. He is the new CEO of Te Aroha Noa. I got out of my bed and had breakfast. When I had finished breakfast I got changed and went outside with my friends whose house we were staying at. We had lots of fun on the trampoline, heading the ball into the goal and kicking it over each other's head. We played for about an hour until there was BIG news… the Big news was that it was time to go in… 5 minutes! So I played as much as I could for 5 minutes until it was time to pack my bags and get ready to go. So I packed up and said goodbye and then got in the car. There were some tears but eventually we left and got on the road.

When we were driving my dad said that we should take videos every now and then and do a update of where we are and stuff. So we used my dad's phone to video every hour. I was about asleep until suddenly we stopped…. I looked around to see that we were at my Nane´s and Poppa's house. Yesssss. So I got out of the car and went and said hello to them and my cousins who were staying there. While we were there we had some lunch and talked. When we were finished having lunch we said goodbye and continued on our journey.

About halfway there we decided to make another video about where we were and what the view looked liked and stuff. An hour later we were in Taupo. We did probably the best video from the trip yet and saw the hotel we stayed in about 2 years ago and other cool things. For about 2 hours we did nothing but drive and play car games like I spy and Name that tune etc. We drove for another 2 hours until we were in Bulls. That mean we are only half an hour away and I was so excited. We looked around bulls while we were driving through there and it looked awesome. When we got out of Bulls we were only about 15 minutes there and
I was hyped and ready to get into Palmy.

5..4..3..2..1 we are finally in Palmy! So we drove to our house and went inside and looked around. It is awesome! We got some dinner and went to sleep early because our stuff is coming in the morning.

Did you like it or not? Tell me why in the comments.
